What Is a Raw Dog Food Co-Op?

A raw dog food co-op is a group or organization that helps local raw feeders save money by purchasing raw pet food in bulk. Over the years, I’ve noticed that most co-ops share a few common traits:

  • Small team management – Often run by one or two people.

  • Annual membership fees – These can range anywhere from $40 to $300.

  • Scheduled ordering – Co-ops usually don’t offer on-demand ordering. Instead, you wait for specific “order windows” to open.

  • Designated pick-up locations – Most co-ops aren’t brick-and-mortar shops. Orders are delivered to specific areas on certain dates and times.

  • Online communication – Many co-ops have a website or Facebook group where they post updates, order details, and communicate with members.

Why Join a Raw Food Co-Op?

Here are some of the reasons I love being part of a co-op:

  • It saves money – I’ve cut my monthly raw food expenses by at least half.

  • Discounted pricing – It’s like shopping at a local pet store, but at lower prices.

  • Bulk sharing – I can split large orders with another raw feeder if I don’t need that much.

  • Built-in community – I’m automatically connected with other local raw feeders.

  • Exclusive deals – Our co-op leaders are always searching for great prices and new product offerings.

  • High-quality sourcing – We get meat from humane and organic farms.

  • Convenient pick-up – My pick-up location is only 10 minutes from home.

  • One-stop shopping – I can buy almost everything I need for my dogs through our co-op.

How to Find a Raw Food Co-Op Near You

Below is a list of raw food co-ops I found through online research and recommendations from fellow raw feeders. Please note:

  • I have not personally vetted these co-ops for product quality, service, fees, or policies.

  • I don’t know the people who run them – for specific questions, contact the co-op directly.

  • The only co-op I use is Pawradise Raw, which serves parts of Washington and Oregon.

The list is organized by U.S. state, plus one entry for Canada. To find your area, press Ctrl+F (Windows) or Command+F (Mac) and type your state or “Canada” into the search bar.

Need Help with Raw Dog Food Recipes?

I make my dogs’ meals from scratch—it’s easier and more affordable than commercial raw. With four dogs at home, bulk ordering and batch meal prep work best for me. I share my raw feeding recipes in my weekly newsletter.

If you’re looking for someone to create a balanced recipe for you, that’s an option, but be careful. Not everyone who markets themselves as a canine nutritionist, meal formulator, or pet health coach is qualified to offer nutrition consultations. Always do your research before trusting someone with your dog’s diet.
