After I lost Sydney, I considered selling my blog. I did again after I lost Scout and definitely after I lost Rodrigo. My blog doesn’t bring me the same joy as it used to, especially considering how much it costs to maintain my website. But my love of sharing content about raw feeding is still there. So, earlier this week, I began working on launching this platform, and I’ll be moving articles here and writing new ones.

Welcome to the Raw Feeder Life newsletter.

I’ll continue sharing my experience with my dogs to raise awareness of natural alternative canine care for curious pet parents who want to be well-informed.

For now, I want to share a few things about me to get re-acquainted.

Mission Statement

Provide a nonjudgmental space where it's safe to ask " stupid " questions to inspire pet parents to think outside the bag and question the status quo!

Qualifications

I began feeding my dogs a raw diet in 2013 and began advocating for fresh food in 2014.  I passed The Feed Real Movement's Dog Food Nutrition course in 2022. And the professional course in 2023.  I am a certified professional canine nutritionist (CPCN). I earned a BRNC (Billinghurst Raw Nutrition Certification) in 2024.

I don’t offer consultations because I don’t want the responsibility. I want my dogs to live forever and know I’m not alone. So, I share what I’m learning.

About My Dogs

My partner and I live with our dogs in Western Washington.

Rodrigo & Sydney: Our first littermates, a herding breed mix, were adopted in May 2010. Sydney passed away in 2020 at the age of 10 from hemangiosarcoma, and Rodrigo passed away in 2023 at the age of 13.5 (and possibly from cancer).

Riley & Blue: Riley was my first foster fail; she passed away in 2012 of parvo. Blue passed away in 2013 after being hit by a car.

Scout and Zoey: Our second littermates, a herding breed mix, joined our family in December 2013. Scout passed away in 2022 at 8 years old from canine lymphoma.

Apollo: Apollo joined our family in August 2019. He's a Siberian Husky/Golden Retriever mix.

Bella: Bella joined our family in December 2022 (she’s a foster fail). She's a Siberian Husky, GSD, Heeler mix.

My Book: Raw Feeding from A to Z

When I transitioned Rodrigo and Sydney to a raw food diet in 2013, I was quickly overwhelmed by the opinions on how and what I should feed my dogs.  That experience taught me to share what I do with my dogs without pressuring others to do the same.

I published my first book in 2017 (or was it 2018?).  I rewrote it and published the update in 2023.  You can find Raw Feeding from A to Z on Amazon.com.

Ask Me Anything

I plan to publish an article once a week - every Wednesday evening to start. The articles will cover…

  • raw feeding

  • canine nutrition

  • topics being discussed on social media

  • and raising dogs

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. You can reply as a comment or message me on social media. I don’t consider myself an expert in raw feeding or dogs, but my dogs have taught me a lot over the years.

Thanks for joining me on this new journey.
